What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 King James Version states, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Simply put, this scripture is referring to things we hope for or believe in but yet we can’t see. Is it possible to believe in what you can’t see? Is it possible to believe in what can’t be perceived by the natural eye? Why is it important that I have faith?
Yes, it’s possible. However, at times I have found that having faith is a daunting task. Believing in or hoping for what I can’t see requires me to intentionally create space for reflection, meditation and prayer. Creating space for these activities requires me to be still and quiet to connect with God and the Holy Spirit. While connecting with God and the Holy Spirit, God reveals His plans, provides instruction and wisdom, which helps to increase my faith. When God reveals, His revelation serves as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen, and His revelation is His truth, so therefore I believe.
